Used monitor checklist: panel, ports and stand
Check the monitor with a compatible source device and the connection you intend to use, not only its power light.
Match the model and connection
Find the exact model on the rear label and confirm its native resolution, supported inputs and power requirements in the manufacturer’s documentation. Ask which cables and adapter are included. A connector’s shape alone does not establish every supported display mode. Arrange a test using your intended source and cable where practical.
Inspect a range of ordinary images
At a comfortable brightness, display a light background, a dark background, text and a moving image. Look for marks, flicker or areas that differ visibly. Inspect with the screen off as well. Photograph a disclosed defect with permission, but remember camera artefacts can differ from what you see directly. A quick viewing cannot establish long-term panel reliability.
Include the stand and transport plan
Test the stand’s normal adjustments and inspect its screws and base without dismantling the monitor. If you need an arm, verify the exact mounting specification and included parts. Measure the space on your desk and agree protective packing for collection. Record missing cables or a missing stand before comparing the asking price with another listing.
