Used VR headset checklist: lenses, fit and accessories
Check the exact headset requirements and the parts in the box before arranging a suitable demonstration.
Understand the complete system
Find out whether the headset works independently or needs a particular computer, console or external equipment. Check the official requirements for the exact model and your intended applications. List controllers, cables, sensors, charger and any required adapters individually. A headset alone may not be a complete usable package.
Inspect contact parts and optics carefully
Inspect lenses without touching them and ask about scratches or previous repairs. Check the strap, adjustment mechanism and face interface. Follow the manufacturer’s cleaning and handling instructions; do not improvise with solvents or abrasive cloths. Confirm the fit can be adjusted for you and account for replacement contact parts if needed.
Agree a suitable demonstration and reset
Use a clear space and the manufacturer’s setup guidance for a short permitted demonstration. Try both controllers, image and sound without forcing yourself to continue if uncomfortable. The owner should prepare account removal and reset using official instructions. Do not assume paid applications on the old account are part of the hardware sale.
